The majority of the views in this series (formerly series C), which is composed of five sub-series, relate to land and water transportation in Canada and the United States, with a strong focus on rail transportation. There are also many views of buildings, factories, shop interiors, machinery, landscapes, cityscapes and portraits. The series contains many images created by the Toronto Transit Commission and the Toronto Harbour Commission, as well as works by photographers such as J.B. Livernois, F.W. Micklethwaite, the Holloway Studio, J.W. Bald, A.E. Young, and Topley. The original envelopes the negatives of each sub-series were initially stored in are also part of each sub-series, however the majority of the envelopes have minimal caption information associated with them.
