MEETING AGENDA
Self-introductions will be made. A volunteer will be "selected" to take the meeting notes and prepare the summary. Any volunteers? A volunteer will be selected if no one volunteers!
Work continues on the guidelines. What is missing? What needs to be added? What needs clarifications? We should begin discussing the process to "approve" the guidelines when they are complete.
Review of revision of Guidelines to cover at least the following:
a. New Object: 1.0.10161.7.3 BL-Collections
Before a decision is made on this object, we should discuss a related issue: Generalized ILL-Request Extension:
b. Clarifications review
c. Defect Reports
d. Plans for Review of Standards
Several IPIG members have expressed an interest in an extension that would permit non-ILL applications to submit an ILL-Request to an ILL application. Is the OCLC extension generalizable to meet all needs?
Is there agreement for the suggestion that all MIME messages contain only one APDU, and that something should be included in the guidelines?
Pat Stevens, chair of the NISO committee developing the NCIP, will provide an update on the status of the committee’s work, and in particular on the draft Principles document:
This is your opportunity to raise items not on the agenda.
Missed item: Intermediary-related questions from Randy Menakes
Three meetings are suggested for 2000, one of which will be held outside the United States. Ameritech has volunteered to host a meeting in the second half of the year. RLG and TLC have also expressed interest in hosting a meeting.
We will identify tentative dates and venues at this meeting. We will post our selection on the listserv to ensure that there are no major conflicts for those not present. Dates and locations will be finalized on the list.
