Introduction

Staff of the Library Information Service are frequently asked "how to move a library, or collection". This selective bibliography entitled Relocating Libraries and Collections, is intended to provide librarians and those working in a library environment, who may be confronted with this challenge with the information to help facilitate this process.

This bibliography is organized into several sections, that focus on moving in different types of libraries - Academic libraries, Public Libraries, Special Libraries and School Libraries.

Readers are also asked to note that:

• Items listed are available at the National Library of Canada (NLC).
• Items refer to Canadian, American and international experiences with moving.
• Databases such as Library Literature, Library and Information Science Abstracts (LISA) and the Library Information Service in-house database were used in compiling this bibliography.
